The Young Academy is the Young Foundation’s flagship education programme. We provide an intensive 12-week taught curriculum comprising 12 workshops and the opportunity to proto-type or pilot ideas with customers and beneficiaries. During the 12 weeks we help ventures build their organisational capacity, strengthen their business model and demonstrate their social impact.
The programme also helps ventures to understand the role that repayable finance could play in helping to achieve their goals. It covers the key components of what it means to become ‘investment-ready’ and offers the opportunity to apply for £150,000 of investment from the Young Academy fund on completion of the programme, in the form of a convertible loan note.
Focus areas of the programme:
1. Incubation - We incubate you, building your business capacity to develop a sustainable and scalable business organisation
2. Investment - We provide you with access to risk capital, enabling you to finance your growth and development
3. Impact - We equip you to demonstrate your impact, build the broader evidence base of what works in reducing inequality.
